Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation
26 days neonate with history of respiratory distress after primary evaluation and management sent to department of Radiology at NMCTH,Birgunj for imaging evaluation which we diagnosed as CPAM (Congenital Pulmonary Airway Malformation) Type 1....imaging finding was a well defined, large, air filled cavity with fluid collection noted in upper lobe of right lung likely of Type 1 CPAM and pulmonary hypoplastic features....... CPAM are disorder of abnormal lung formation and incorporated in spectrum of bronchopulmonary foregut malformations....with incidence of 1 in 1500 to 4000 live birth with male predominance.....Most of the cases are diagnosed in antenatal ultrasound and followed up for spontaneous intrauterine resolution......However,,, symptomatic cases with large area involvement needs surgical intervention i.e Lobectomy This case also underwent Lobectomy performed by pediatric surgery and team........
